Korriban, also known as Moraband by the time of the Clone Wars, is the original homeworld of the Sith species and a sacred planet for the Sith Order, housing the tombs for many ancient and powerful Dark Lords of the Sith, and containing immense dark side power. A world of mountains and red sands, Korriban was abandoned after widespread devastation during numerous wars, but was rebuilt after the revival of the New Republic.

Korriban has been the home planet of the Sith since ancient times, but was eventually abandoned because of the lack of Sith (Bane's rule of two). During this time, a crime syndicate called the Blood Warlords came to this planet, and built several bases and occupied ancient temples.
