When does Star Wars Network take place?

It takes place after some time after Episode IX, or the stories of EU.

Star Wars Network’s story is no official story in Star Wars’ canon nor the expanded universe, but fully made up, so everything that happens is non-canon.

The galaxy is yet again at war. The New Republic is losing planets to a new threat, which has been brought back from ancient times: the Sith Empire. Though the New Republic stands strong and the chances of it falling is very small, citizens still fear that the Empire will rule the galaxy.

Not to mention that the war is not just between the two enormous factions,

but also smaller, strong factions too are willing to become vigorous, and not loyal to the New Republic nor the Empire. Mandalore is refueled with bloodlust and is determined to destroy anyone on their path to greater domination. The Hutt Cartel has been around for ages, and do not want to lose their planets in Hutt Space to anyone else. Nar Shaddaa has become an important planet to smugglers, the Hutts cannot afford to lose the planet, so war is the only option.

The New Republic forbids giving the Jedi an important role in the Chancellor’s decision because they fear that the New Republic will end up the same as the Republic during the Clone Wars. Due to that, the Jedi are treated the same way as Sith, just normal inhabitants of The New Republic. They are mysterious outcasts that blindly follow the old traditions. The New Republic will not be controlled once again by these ‘spell' casters: It’s the dawn of a new era.

The Jedi Order however only seeks peace. Surely they find their removal as important contributors to The New Republic very unwise, yet their loyalty still remains with the Republic; to democracy. They still protect and help the New Republic by participating in battles, leading armies to protect or reconquer worlds. Because of the assistance provided by The Jedi Order, the New Republic protects The Jedi’s homeworld, Tython, but does not put any battalions on the planet.

Mandalore may have a smaller army, but their soldiers are arguably the most trained elite warriors. Not only are their troopers powerful, but they also invest in Bountyhunters to finish strong individual opponents before a battle starts.

The Hutt Cartel has a large number of droids at disposal, and the smaller mafia gangs, which still have a rivalry, help to protect any planet in Hutt Space. And obviously, on the contrary to the New Republic, the Empire is still being controlled by the Sith. They have an army which is almost as big as the New Republic’s army, and have recaptured the ancient Sith planet Korriban, also known as Moraband, called like that by the Republic to make their citizens during the Clone Wars forget about it’s Sith history.

Ancient figures of the past have appeared, which is unexplained... Many suspect they are hologram recordings or holocrons, left to teach later students secret techniques. Others claim that they are a cult of a private order,  disguised as those ancient masters, and know those techniques by constant study of the arts. The hologram theory sounds viable until one gets the chance to interact with one of those figures. They seem capable of having any conversation, with varying answers as if they were sentient. The most likely explanation is that they are illusions or ‘echoes’ from the past, reawakened by something.

This is the main explanation of the era when Star Wars Network takes place. Every class will have their own story, with unique add-on stories for subclasses.
