The Wookiees, whose name for themselves translate to the People of the Trees, are a tall and hairy sentient species that are inhabitants of the planet Kashyyyk. A race of arboreal mammals, the Wookiees live in treehouses nestled in the canopy of the towering wroshyr trees. Despite their fearsome appearance, they are usually gentle, although they are prone to devastating fits of rage when provoked. Though being from a temperate planet better known for its swamps and forests, they are able to be comfortable on icy worlds such as Ilum and Hoth without any protective clothing, including gloves and boots.
