Jawas are a small sentient species and are known to be scavengers, who roam the rough landscapes of Tatooine looking for scraps and other materials to make profit. If they find a faulty droid they will repair them for business, and they swindle farmers to get credits. Jawas have a peaceful relationship with Tuskens, but prefer to keep their distance. They also stay away from most hostile animals, such as rancors and krayt dragons. They utilise huge mobile fortresses called sandcrawlers for travel, storage, and as a living place.
