Kashyyyk is a wroshyr tree-covered forest planet located in the southwestern quadrant of the galaxy and the homeworld of the Wookiee species. It was a member of the Galactic Republic, endured enslavement under the Galactic Empire after the Clone Wars, and later joined the New Republic. Much of the planet can be compared to a giant swamp—filled with wildlife and covered with wet soil and large amounts of water.
